Record coordination app means less stress for patients

When a loved one receives an unthinkable diagnosis, such as cancer or dementia, we have many questions. What is the prognosis? How will they physically and emotionally endure the treatment? Is there a genetic link? And as their loved one, what can we do to help?

So many questions plague patients and their loved ones. You want to help. You want answers. Where do you turn?

When battling horrific diseases, you can’t always cure them, but you can help in the fight. This is what inspired Debi Willis, CEO and founder of our partner PatientLink, to combine her personal experience and technical knowledge to create MyLinks.

Debi is a cancer survivor and knows firsthand about the obstacles involved in battling disease. Throughout her fight with cancer, she faced many delays in ordering medical records, test results and reports. Coordinating her records was a daunting task.

MyLinks makes it easier to face those obstacles of illness. It enables patients to keep all of their medical records in one location. Patients can communicate with their doctors via secure emails, participate in research, join patient forums, share their medical information with friends or researchers, become a health guardian for a loved one and so much more. But MyLinks doesn’t just help patients. It also helps medical practices meet Meaningful Use and MACRA.

MyLinks is free to both patients and medical practices. MyLinks was a runner up in the Allscripts Open ADP Patient Engagement Challenge and named the Allscripts App of the Month for January. MyLinks’ latest achievement, a first-place winner in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s (ONC) Consumer Health Data Aggregator Challenge, is an incredible honor.

“Winning these awards has been such an honor…knowing that they appreciate and see the value in what we are doing. The most exciting benefit of the awards is the potential to reach more people faster…helping us find cures faster,” Willis said. “Together, we can do this. We can stop these diseases that take our loved ones from us. Together is the key!”

To learn more about this application, join MyLinks for a webinar on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
